A First!!

This was Marlee's first Christmas and I have to say, she loved it. She didn't quite understand the concept of opening presents but loved the wrapping paper once the gift was removed from it. She enjoyed watching Rhaegan open her presents even though Rhaegan could have done without her trying to "help." New "Backyardigans" hat.

Christmas Morning

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We were able to be at my family's house with all of my siblings and their families there as well. Rhaegan loved having her aunts, uncles and cousins there to play with and entertain her. She of course has been spoiled beyond belief and has a little bit of an attitude to prove it. I'm really going to have my work cut out for me when we get back to Utah trying to undo the damage. This was Christmas morning right before we started opening up our gifts.
Rhaegan and Marlee enjoying their stockings from Santa

Marlee thought the whole experience was great!

Rhaegan's new princess slippers. Santa really knows my little girl.

Rhaegan of course woke up at 6 am and ran downstairs to see what was waiting for her. She was so excited to find a plethora of princess stuff.

Say Cheese

I wish and wish for my little babies to grow up when they are newborns (because I'm not a big newborn lover) and then they do and it leaves wishing they were little again. I love watching them grow and discover new things but looking back on them as little babies makes me smile and long for that short time back.I can't believe how big they both are now. Rhaegan is 4 going on 21 and Marlee seems to be skipping the complete baby phase. She is growing up way too quickly.
I love my little monkeys.

Santa and the Girls

We had our ward Christmas party last Friday and Rhaegan was super excited when she found out that Santa was going to be making a special trip all the way from the North Pole to see her. Marlee on the other hand was not as excited. The minute I set her on his lap the waterworks began. It's always fun to see the true spirit of Christmas in a little kids eyes.

Happy Birthday, Ray Ray!!!

Happy Birthday, my little dancer!I can't believe Rhaegan is already 4 years old. I feel like just yesterday she was learning how to walk. Now she's riding bikes, writing letters, singing songs, negotiating her way out of trouble and on her way to being a teenager. She is a joy to have around and we love her to pieces. Here are a few of things Rhaegan is enjoying at age 4:
1. The show "Max & Ruby"
2. Any type of candy
3. Fluffy, frilly outfits. The higher they twirl the better.
4. Dancing to music
5. Playing with her friends
6. Makeup (especially lip stick and nail polish)
7. Making cookies and cakes (there has to be frosting included)
8. Pajamas! She is always borrowing her cousin's.
9. Noodles (plain or with sauce) She could/would eat them everyday if we let her.
10. Bubbles
We love you, Rhaegan and we hope you had a great birthday!!

Family Night

We had a great family night last Monday with Shae's brother Jason and his family. We had pizza and then headed to the local bowling alley. Rhaegan had so much fun with her cousins and Marlee enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Papa.Rhaegan was a natural. It took her ball about 3 minutes to get down the lane.
These two cuties have so much fun together. It's a bummer we don't live closer to them.
Thanks Grandma and Papa for a great "family night."

Blast from the Past

Do you remember these horses? I had one as a kid. I remember riding all the time. I look at this one and a part of me wants to hop on it and take it for a stroll. Rhaegan loves playing with this particular horse. She could ride on it all day long.Marlee on the other hand did not like it at first. In fact she screamed the first time she saw Rhaegan riding it. Fortunately she warmed up to it and now thinks it's fantastic.

Thanksgiving in ID

We are up in Idaho celebrating the holidays with Shae's family. We have been having a lot of fun hanging out with Grandma and Papa and some of Rhaegan and Marlee's cousins. Of course our days are filled with hot tubing, jumping on the trampoline, hanging Christmas lights, watching movies and eating delicious food. Rhaegan loves the hot tub and wants to be in it all day. I keep having to tell her her hair will turn green if she stays in too long. She of course freaks out about that possibility.
Marlee and her adorable little cousin, Memsel. They are so cute together.
Rhaegan and Atalya with their matching Tinker Bell pjs.
Happy Thanksgiving!! Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Here's another one..

(I put this picture of Ray on here because I wanted everyone to see how cute and innocent she once was) Rhaegan says a lot of funny things and I try to remember the majority of them, but of course my brain doesn't hold that much information these days. However, this past Tuesday Shae let me in on a little something Rhaegan said while I was at a baby shower and Dad was in charge of "bedtime." Now keep in mind she is a very nice girl but an incredible sponge, remembering pretty much everything I have ever said to her, around her, from a different room. Here's the story:
We read Rhaegan 2 books every night before she goes to sleep. Well, Tuesday night I wasn't home so of course she decides she only want me to read to her. Shae finally (after a lot of fighting) said she could wait up until I got home but she had to stay in her room and not come out.
Rhaegan comes out the first time.
Shae: "Rhaegan, go back to your room."
Rhaegan: "Okay, Dad."
She comes out 5 minutes later.
Shae: "Rhaegan! Please go back to your room or Mommy will not read to you."
Rhaegan: "Fine!"
She comes out one more time.
Shae: "RHAEGAN!! I am going to count to three and if I get to thr....."
Rhaegan: "No, Dad. If I get to three I am going to throw you out that window!"
Ahh...we love you Rhaegan.

Major Splashing

As I've posted before Marlee loves the bath. She sometimes can't control her excitement. Here is a perfect portrayal of that.

Random Shots

My girls keep me extremely busy and I sometimes forget about pictures I have taken. These shots are from the past month. Marlee is growing at an incredible rate. She is crawling now and loves to destroy the DVDs which are always stacked so neatly thanks to Rhaegan. She loves taking a bath (as you will see in one of the photos below). She could actually live in the bath tub if I let her. She is always smiling but still has yet to let out a laugh. We love her and all her little characteristics. Grandma Cupps made the girls these adorable little aprons
Rhaegan is our little "mom." She always wants to help (and by help I mean do it all by herself) me with Marlee, the house work, making dinner. Pretty much anything I do she wants to do also. She loves princesses and everything that may even remotely resemble a princess. She loves "twirly skirts" as she calls them. You pretty much have to be able to see her underwear when she spins around or the skirt isn't twirly enough. She has developed a love for my computer and can navigate around until she finds a Dora game to play. We love her curiosity and zest for life. She makes us smile everyday.

Rhaegan heard me say several weeks ago that it was going to snow. She ran to the closet, pulled out her snowsuit and prepared herself for the storm. When I came back out to the living room this is what I found. She said mom I'm ready to go play in the snow. I said you might be a little cold

Bath time!!!

This is Marlee's famous face. It's almost like she's trying to say, "really, Mom? You think you know me so well."

New Dress

I have the best friends ever. About a month ago I was surprised by Ash and Tiff with this gorgeous (in my opinion) dress. I had seen it at Target about 2 weeks prior and had been talking about it non-stop. I kept telling myself that once our life wasn't so stressful and hectic (money-wise) I would go back and hopefully it would still be there. Then one day while I was hanging out with the girls they surprised me with a little gift bag. I looked at them clearly puzzled by the present. I opened it up and sure enough, there was the dress.
(I know this picture is extremely cheesy)
I tried with all my might to say thank you in a normal voice but of course I was overcome with emotion and broke out into tears. They said they just wanted to let me know how special I was and what I great friend they thought I was. Thank you, ladies for your friendship. I love you both!!!

The "real" doll

When I leave Rhaegan alone with Marlee she apparently begins to mistake her for one of her dolls. At least she was strapped in.Marlee didn't seem to mind. She was smiling the whole time.

Happy Birthday, Opa Cupps!!

We love you and hope you have a great day!

Happy Halloween!

We had a lot of fun this Halloween. It was fun figuring out what Rhaegan was going to be (she changed her mind about 100 times). I told her that we weren't going to buy a costume this year so we had to be creative. Luckily her cousins have some pretty fabulous dance outfits and were willing to let Rhaegan borrow one for the night. She was so excited to be a "pretty ballerina." Marlee really had no say in her costume choice. It was on sale (50% off) and it looked warm so I said yep, that's the one. She, however, hated the hat. I can't really blame her. It didn't look that appealing. We went up to Braden and Kimmie's house so we could go trick or treating with their kids. We of course had to have a quick photo shoot before the real fun started.

Marlee meets balloon

Marlee has still never laughed. Instead of laughing she has invented a new way to express her excitement. She squeals and flaps her arms as if she's trying to fly. It's hilarious to watch. Well I introduced her to a balloon the other day and her flying imitation came out in full force.

What's Wrong?

What's wrong with this picture?
My sweet husband was trying to help me Sunday morning by getting the girls dressed while I showered and did my hair. When I came back out to the living room I was so happy to see both of my girls in their dresses all ready to go. But wait....something was a little off. I looked a little bit closer at Marlee and noticed she was wearing Rhaegan's dress! I had set two dresses out for Rhaegan so she could choose which one she wanted but I forgot to mention that to Shae so he thought one was for Rhaegan and the other one was Marlee's. I laughed for about 20 minutes.

Top Ten

I have a lot in my life to be thankful for and I often forget to focus on the positives because the negative always take up all my time. As I was sitting here trying to decide what I should blog about I realized my "thankful" list should be my next blog. So here it goes:

1. I am so grateful for such a wonderful husband. He is the hardest worker I know. He never says "no" when someone needs his help even if it might take all day! He rarely complains and with his line of work there tends to be a lot of frustration and let-downs. I always want to whine about something but his responses are always positive. I love him so much.

2. I live in a fabulous neighborhood surrounded by great friends and tons of kids. We have a playground right out our front door and a safe environment for our kids to plan in.

3. My kids love their dad! Marlee is continuously saying "dada" (which, I know is just babbling but absolutely adorable). Rhaegan loves to play hide and seek with Shae. She looks up to him and idolizes him.

4. I love my calling at church. I love the young women and their sweet personalities. They all make me smile and make me feel like I might be able to make a difference.
5. I have an awesome pediatrician for my girls! She is constantly hoarding all the samples of Alimentum (Marlee's extremely expensive formula) and saving them for me. She has seriously saved me well over $200 in the past 3 months. My girls love her and never complain about having to go to the doctors.
6. I have two beautiful little girls whom I love so much.
7. I am blessed with great parents who have always been there to help us through anything. They are wonderful grandparents to our girls. We just wish they lived closer.
8. I have great in-laws who would do anything for us and often do. We love them!
9. I love looking out our windows and seeing the gorgeous mountains. I love having them right there to take advantage of.
10. I'm grateful for the show "Modern Family." It makes me laugh no matter what my day has been like.
There are so many other things I love and am thankful for. Maybe I'll have another Top Ten soon.

My Two Little Ladies!

I love these two little girls. They both can drive me crazy but then I look at pictures like these and realize how much I love them and how happy they make me. Rhaegan wanted to do silly faces in this picture. Marlee always seems to have a silly face going on so that made this picture quick and easy.My two little ladies enjoying the door stops in the hallway. Marlee thinks they're great.
I love you, Rhaegan and Marlee.

Best Deal Ever!

I was super excited when I heard that they were releasing this movie again for a limited time. Rhaegan loves Snow White. She wants to be her for Halloween and at Disneyland she was asking about her everyday. So I was anxiously awaiting Oct. 6th for it to hit stores. Then the best part happened. One of my friends told me that there was a coupon for $10.00 off!!!! You had to buy the DVD/Blue Ray combo edition to get the discount, but Walmart was selling it for $19.96 for the first week only. This made my final price $9.96 (for those math-impaired folks out there)!! I was so excited. So I headed out to the store today to pick up our copy. Rhaegan has been watching it all day. I love Disney movies. they bring back such fun childhood memories.

Cougar Pride

Last Saturday Shae and Rhaegan had the opportunity of going to the BYU football game. I was pretty excited because that meant I had several hours of relaxation (Marlee would be napping and she's pretty low key). They left around 2pm and with the game scheduled to start at 4pm I figured I had until at least 7pm to do whatever I wanted. However, with the weather being so hot that day and Rhaegan being only 3, her attention span wasn't lasting as long as I hoped. At 4:30 I get a text from Shae saying, "Rhaegan wants to come home."
I told him a couple of ideas to keep her occupied and said that if after 30 minutes she was still wanting to leave then I would come and pick them up. They lasted until 5:30, which I guess is better than nothing.

(Rhaegan with Uncle Darin and cousin Seth. She absolutely adores these two guys)
I picked them up outside the stadium at 6pm. Rhaegan was so excited to tell me all about the game (well really just about the treats she got in an effort to keep her entertained).
Thanks, Darin and Seth for the tickets and the fun time. Maybe next time Rhaegan will last a little bit longer.

Must see!

Modern Family
This is by far my new favorite show on TV. I watched it by myself and I was actually laughing out loud. It's a must see. I still have a couple of shows to watch so my must see list might change a little bit. As of now, though, "Modern Family" is number one.

Battle Wound part II

What happens when you spin a three year old around and around then set her down and tell her to try and walk?.....Yes I know what you're thinking, I deserve the "Mother of the Year" award!

Cheap Entertainment

I love it when everyday household items bring unlimited entertainment to my two girls. Marlee thinks that big spoons are the best and Rhaegan loves teaching her how to bang them on everything (my legs included). The only setback we had was Marlee toppling over every once in a while.

Who needs expensive toys?

Battle Wound

Rhaegan got her first "real" Battle wound the other day. She was playing with some friends and slipped in a puddle of water, landing smack on her face. I didn't see it happen but when she came crying to me I immediately thought, "oh come on. What's wrong now?" I then saw her face and softened up a little bit.She was actually pretty brave about the whole thing. She of course needed some ice to put on it because apparently ice heals everything.

Bedhead!

My girls have the greatest hair in the morning. I always tell myself that I'm going to get a picture of it but I never have a camera available. Luckily, my camera was sitting on the counter waiting for me a couple mornings ago and here is what I captured.Marlee's hair actually tends to look like this all day but we'll just say it's her "morning-do"
I know, Rhaegan's hair doesn't look too bad in this picture, but if you were to attempt running a brush through it, well I'm here to tell you it wouldn't work. I love my little munchkins.

Marlee at 6 Months!

Where does the time go. Now this is the age that I love! She is developing such an adorable personality. All you need to do is look at her and she smiles from ear to ear. I love watching her grow and discover new things. She makes me smile on the gloomiest of days.A Little bit about Marlee at 6 months:
*She loves sweet potatoes (but nothing else)
*She can sit up without any support which is so nice
*She has only laughed once in her life. We try EVERYTHING to get a giggle out of her but apparently I'm not that funny. Instead of laughing she flaps her arms out to the side and shakes with excitement. It's pretty funny to watch.
* Even though her sister can be kind of rough with her, she adores her none the less.
*When she is tired or hungry you will know it. She doesn't hide her feelings too well.
We love you, Marlee
