Here we go again...

We took yet another trip to Idaho this past week. Shae had some people he needed to meet with up there so we made it a family affair. We all had a lot of fun and did some new and exciting activities. One of those activities was a trip to the local YMCA for some swimming and water slide riding. A daily family pass was a little pricey so we decided that we couldn't just go for an hour in the morning. We had go again that afternoon. Shae took Rhaegan swimming in the morning and Papa Taylor took Rhaegan in the afternoon. She definitely got her fill of water for the month. There were fun water spouts and waterfalls. There was also a water slide!! Rhaegan and Reed went on it one time and that was enough for them. They kind of made a crash landing into the water and I think it scared Rhaegan enough to not want to do it again.
Her poor little body was freezing the entire time she was swimming but she never wanted to get out. She especially loved these little spouts of water that came up from the floor.

There was also a lazy river. It looked so relaxing.

Shae got to enjoy some air hockey with his brother, Jason. It was fun watching them battle it out.

Rhaegan and Atalya really enjoyed each other's company. Rhaegan loves being with her cousins.
We also did a lot of shopping and game playing. All in all it was a good trip and a nice break from everyday (pregnant) life.

Special Thanks

I received the best baby shower last Wednesday and I just want to say a quick THANK YOU to everyone who came and helped plan such a special night for me. It was also great because my mom was able to be in town for the event. Thank you, Ashly for thinking of me and planning such a great shower. I had so much fun. The food was fabulous as were all the decorations. I'm sorry that I don't have any pictures yet to post but the minute I get them from my mom and Ashly I will share them with the rest of you.. It was a great night filled with fun conversations and of course wonderful gifts. Several of the girls decided to all pitch in and buy me a video monitor!! You know the one with the TV!!! Shae was so excited about it. He worries so much about the baby not breathing or getting stuck in her blankets or crib rails. He has found a lot of comfort in this new little toy. My mom also gave us an amazing gift; a double stroller! I never in a million years thought I would have one let alone be so excited about having one. It is by far the nicest stroller ever. Rhaegan loves it and can constantly be found sitting in it with her drink and a snack.

It's not completely put together yet (the front foot rest is not on yet). You can't see the details from this picture but it's the only one I have. It is so cute.

Thanks again everyone for making me feel so special. I love all of you!!

Sleeping problems continue...

So Rhaegan continues to be the worst sleeper in the entire world. She fights sleep with every fiber of her being and it's starting to take it's toll on Shae and myself and on her. Naps have become one of the most stressful times for me. Rhaegan NEVER goes to sleep during nap time but by about 4 o'clock she is beyond tired. I have tired almost everything I can think of and have taken suggestion after suggestion but nothing is working. Now during nap time this is what her room looks like after she's finished expressing her totally aversion to napping....

I now have taken everything out of her room except for her bed and blankets. She has to stay in there for only an hour but I'm hoping that with nothing to destroy maybe she'll get bored and fall asleep.
I know that some of you are probably thinking "come on Kendall, maybe she doesn't need naps anymore." Trust me I have thought that very same thing but when she's only getting around 7 hours of sleep at night (she wakes up a 4:30 sometimes 5 every morning), she clearly is not receiving enough. WHAT DO I DO??????

Our Little Sunbeam

I am still baffled at how fast 3 years has passed. Rhaegan is no longer in nursery at church. She has officially graduated to an adorable little sunbeam. I was a little worried about her abilities to sit still for 2 hours with no toys or snacks. I was, however, pleasantly surprised when we picked her up after her first day in primary and found out from several teachers that she was fantastic. She participated (which definitely does not come from me) and actually said the closing prayer in her class. She did so well in fact that they asked her to give a little talk next Sunday. She was so thrilled even though I'm sure she has no idea what that means.

We are so proud of her. It's nice knowing that she is enjoying herself. It's just hard to accept the fact that she's no longer my little baby.

Christmas Day!!

So my Christmas blogs continue... Christmas Day was so much fun. It was so nice to spend it with family and to be at my parent's new house in Ohio. This Christmas was the "Green" Christmas. We received reusable grocery bags from Krista and from my mom which was such and fun and environmentally friendly idea. I ended up with 4 great bags. It was also the year of the "extremely cute pajama bottoms." We always get PJ's for Christmas but this year they were so cute (I did help pick them out). We all got so many wonderful gifts. Thanks to everyone (especially Santa) for making this past Christmas so magical.

Here is a look at the adorable pajama bottoms. You can't really see them that well but you get the idea.

Christmas morning started out bright and early thanks to Rhaegan. She was so anxious to get up and see if Santa and the reindeer had eaten their treats. Of course they had. Who wouldn't eat yummy cookies and carrots? Rhaegan was so amazed and excited.
Then it was on to the stockings. Santa left so many fun things for Rhaegan including some cute princess necklaces and underwear, a big sticker book, a couple books, and more.
While we waited for a "special visitor" to arrive we of course had to read some books. Papa and Rhaegan (the two smarty pants in the family) must have been reading something funny.
Then there was a knock at the front door. Rhaegan went running to open it. When she did she was faced with a jolly surprise. Santa had made a special trip on his way back home to the North Pole to see Rhaegan. He even had a gift for her he had forgotten to leave under the tree. Rhaegan was so surprise she was truly speechless. I was really amazed that she actually sat on his lap and wasn't at all scared.

Next...let the gift opening begin.
So many fun surprises, the floor was completely covered with all of our findings.

Krista, Josh and Nils.
Thanks for a great holiday season. We had a great time.
