A Day to Myself

Before I dive into what could be the best story of my life I need to first say a major THANK YOU to Kimmie. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when Shae says to me, "Kimmie called and wanted to know if she could take Rhaegan for the whole day. Ashton has been wanting to play with her so now would be as good a time as any." I immediately said, "what did you say to her to get her to offer something so unbelievable?" Shae swears he said nothing about me needing a break from my very high-maintenance 3 year old. Kimmie just have some great telepathy or something. I can't even put into words my relief at the idea.

So, at 10am today I loaded Rhaegan into Kimmie's car and off they drove. What was I going to do with all this free time? Whatever I wanted!!!!!!

  • I went shopping with my BFF
  • I went to lunch with Shae
  • I read my book
  • Went to the library and checked out some books for the next couple of weeks (I am really planning on having this baby asap)
  • I did shed a couple of tears I have to admit unfortunately. Walking into my house and not hearing Rhaegan or seeing her was really weird because I have never experienced that before (I know, it's pathetic).

I had a great day is basically what I'm trying to say. I really need to take more breaks not only for myself but for Rhaegan's benefit too. She loves playing with her cousins so she was on cloud nine. Thanks again, Kimmie for such a wonderful gift. You will never fully understand how much it meant to me. You're the best.

Be my Valentine

For Valentine's Day this year I really wanted to do something special for Shae but being 9 months pregnant I had no energy and my mind and ceased to work creatively anymore. So his Valentine's Day included the DVD "21" which he has been asking for for a while now and a card. Maybe next year I will be more creative and romantic. His gifts to us were so cute though. He got me the Grammy's Greatest Hits CD and a box of chocolates which were delicious. They are already gone. Then the best part came...Rhaegan's gift. She opened it up and there it was...her very own Cinderella gown complete with her own high-heeled shoes!! She LOVED it and continues to wear it every second of everyday.Showing off her shoes may be her favorite part of the whole gift. I may have just figures out why she acts so sassy and spoiled sometimes.
And here she is...I have to admit it's a pretty cute dress-up outfit.
After putting on the dress, she and her daddy decide to have their first dance. It was adorable and reminded me of dancing with my dad when I was little.

Rhaegan's 1st Haircut

I'm sorry that these pictures are blurry but I only had my phone camera because of course I forgot my real camera. We decided it was time to cut Rhaegan's hair because it was down to her to the top of her bum and was so hard to wash, brush, style. She hates having her hair done so I thought maybe if we cut some off it wouldn't hurt as bad to comb it every morning.
We went to this adorable place called Cookie Cutters. They specialize in kids haircuts and have made their salon very kid friendly. Rhaegan got to play on this play set while waiting for her turn. Then when they called her name she got to pick out a movie to watch while getting her hair done (she picked Scooby-Doo. Go figure). Then they get to choose a car to sit in. She of course chose the pink car. You can tell from this picture how long her hair was. I told the girl to cut off 3 inches because I was too afraid to cut anymore. Shae was looking at me like I was crazy. He thought 6 or 7 inches would have been better. After she cut 3 I said okay maybe 2 more inches would be okay. So after 5 inches came off her hair was much healthier and more manageable.
You can't even tell (from this picture at least) how much really came off. She would let them style it so it looks pretty much the same. We did cut 5 inches off though. I swear. Luckily some of the curl is still there. Not nearly at much as before but it still has all it's volume. She wasn't the best costumer and I think I will learn to cut it for the next haircut.
I can't believe I waited 3 years to cut her hair. I am crazy.

Pregnancy Update...

So it looks like baby girl Taylor might just arrive a little bit early. I have been having contractions (nothing to call home about) but they are there and causing a bit of mild discomfort. I am completely ready for her to arrive any day. Rhaegan is beyond excited about her. I had a doctors appointment today and we decided to leave her with Ashly instead of taking her since they were checking my progress. When we left she said, "when you get home I will hold Baby and play with her." I had to explain that we weren't actually bring her home today. Rhaegan was a little confused but forgot about it once she started playing with her friends. We will keep everyone updated as events occur. Hope you are all doing well. Hopefully we will have some exciting news within the week.

Need a good movie?

There are a lot of movies out right now that seem pretty good but there are two that stand out among the rest. If you are looking for a great movie and can't seem to decided well look no further...

1. Seven Pounds
There's something about this movie that grabs your attention and keeps you interested throughout the entire thing. You can't explain the movie to anyone because you would give something away by just trying to briefly summarize it. When Will Smith was interviewed he couldn't say anything (which made for a pretty boring interview) It's a great movie and will leave you seriously thinking about your priorities.

2. Taken
Shae and I just went and saw this movie with some of our good friends. We left the theater in complete awe. It's along the same lines as the Bourne movies but I honestly have to rethink which movie is better. Taken, in my opinion, takes the cake. The fight scenes alone are unbelievable. Liam Neeson is a fabulous actor and plays his part superbly. I give both of these movies an A+. Definitely go and see them ASAP!!!
