Second Time Around

Two years ago (almost to the day) we were doing this exact same thing with little Rhaegan. Today it was Marlee's turn. My girls have extremely bad ears which inevitably leads to tubes. Marlee has been suffering from the same ear infection for about 8 weeks now. She has been on as many antibiotics as allowed by law and still the infection persists. It was only a matter of time before we heard the word "tubes." We arrived at the surgical center at around 9 am. She was given a cute little shirt to wear during the procedure and then we waited....and waited...and waited some more. Keep in mind Marlee hadn't eaten since 2am (we woke her up to feed her).
She hated the ankle tag they put on her and tried with all her might to remove it.

We tried to pass the time by playing dress-up.

And taking rides in the green wagon.

Then is was Marlee's turn! The Anesthesiologist came and got her, we waited for about 15 minutes in the waiting room, and then we were called back to post-op to hold our little girl while she was waking up (not the greatest experience).
The ENT said her ears (especially the left) were EXTREMELY infected with about a tablespoon of puss in each!!! Luckily everything went well and she is now at home playing like her normal self. We'll see how the next 48 hours go.
Thanks Ash, for watching Rhaegan. You're the best!!

Glad it went well. She is so adorable! I hope she continues to do well and hopefully this will completely cure her little ears!

Who is the ENT dr? I'm trying to find a good one around here. Do you like him?

How awful. I hate dealing with surgeries. Poor thing her ears must have been driving her nits. Don't you hate the whole fasting thing thing. They make them fast for so long before a surgery- and they don't understand it! I am glad everything went well.

All that puss! Poor baby girl! Hopefully it will help getting her back to feeling better : ) How long does she have to have the tubes in?

Katie: Her ENT's name is Heidi Heras. Her office is in American Fork near Target. She is great. Very nice and funny.

Ash: She has to have her tubes in until they fall out by themselves between 6 months and a year, sometimes longer.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts!!
